about swk

Right now —

Refugees throughout Europe still live under inhumane conditions. Helpseekers have difficulties entering the EU. Increasing reports of pushbacks, violence at the borders, and severe conditions in reception centres are everyday life.
With the SWK Christmas campaign, we are supporting the project „kesha Niya“.
There, volunteers cook more than 400 meals a day during peak periods and drive them to the French/Italian border, where they provide advice and assistance to those seeking help.
Let’s support SWK! Swipe up and donate . Every dollar counts and helps to provide the most necessary to the ones with nowhere to go.

What we do —

We welcome the people who come to us with warm food, warm clothing, initial medical care or simply with advice and support. We get into conversation, listen to their stories and take part in their lives. We want to show them that Europe has many faces and that there are many people whose values are based on humanity, justice and equality.

We go to places where there are (still) few structures that support arriving fled people.
Our base consists of a fixed group of volunteers and changing volunteers, who prepare hot food for up to several thousand people every day with mobile equipment, such as a field kitchen, gas stoves, vans and many many boxes. Here in Germany, we take over large parts of the organization, transport and bureaucracy for this work and are there for the people who want to live here.
